At last we have a date of May 18th. to look forward to for a return to golf at Rathcore. Andy is delighted to welcome all members back to the course after the lock down. We are awaiting a statement from the GUI which we expect imminently regarding the restrictions and rules to be applied for Phase 1 of golf clubs re-opening. We will share this with you as soon as it becomes available. The following is likely to be the general rules subject to confirmation.
TO BE CONFIRMED AFTER THE GUI STATEMENT………

All common areas sanitised
One person in office at a time
No handling of common equipment(including flags, washers, rakes etc)

Intervals of xx mins between groups
For the many of you who participated in the Captains Drive In on March 22nd. you will be aware that we were already operating all of these rules and we fully intend to continue with this regime, including marshalling and computers turned off.
To keep people keen, we will be running a local manual sweep twice a week for those interested:
Monday -Friday Stableford (€5 + €2 for 2’s)
Saturday – Sunday Stableford (€8 + €2 for 2’s)
Re-entries are allowed Mon to Fri with only best score taken.
No re-entries on Sat/Sun.
Cards will need to be completed in full, including stableford points. Otherwise they will be treated as non-returns.
BRS will be open for bookings as soon as we are fully informed of the playing restrictions.
Members please do not park in the spaces marked “PG” during the week. These are reserved for Progressive Genetics staff.
All health & safety precautions will be observed in the running of these events, including marshalling.
As we are returning to normal business, Andy expects all members who have not done so, to pay their subs in full, or put a committed payment plan in place(i.e. direct debit) before May 18th. Any member who has not done so will be disabled on BRS and therefore not allowed to play golf from May 18th. Only members entered on BRS will be eligible to play golf from May 18th. Anybody arriving into the car park that is not on BRS for that day will be asked to leave.
Members can make payments by cash, cheque or bank transfer. Bank details below:
ACCOUNT NAME: Andy Christie
Please reference your name and GUI No. in the transfer.
The committee fully supports Andy in his plans outlined above to get back to being fully operational ASAP. Members will see evidence of the huge improvements Andy has implemented during the lock down. Given that this work was carried out in a period of no income, it deserves our full support.
Lastly, as an exception for 2020, Andy is offering membership to new first time members from now until Dec. 31st. for €459.00. Hopefully this is an attractive offer and will get the attention of many including footballers/hurlers who are looking for an outlet while awaiting a return to their chosen sport. Please pass this on to anyone you think may be interested.
We look forward to seeing all our members back on the golf course safely enjoying the course and the sport we all love.
